The course is a combination of sporting performance and academic ambition. However, the course is structured at a Level 3 equivalent to A-Level, with the next step being university or employment. Consequently, the course requires students that possess the enthusiasm and commitment to thrive in the challenges of being a student athlete. As a result, students require the following:

• GCSE (a minimum of four grade 9-4)
• GCSE English or Maths at grade 4 (there is an option to retake one)
• Practical assessment (assessed opportunities throughout the year)
• Registered with England Boxing
• Satisfactory reference from your current coach

On enrolment students will be expected to purchase the DiSE Midlands kit.
